Historical Note
In 1895 eight clubs whose headquarters
were within ten miles of Birmingham city
centre founded The Birmingham &
District Water Polo League. Warley
previously called Smethwick was one of
those founding members. In 1997 to reflect the expansion in the area covered by the league it changed its name to
The Midland Water Polo League.
